Jonathan Franzen did us all a favor, really. What else were we all going to do this morning if not read about his plan to adopt a war orphan asa plan to better understand young people? And thanks to the Twitter that he so loathes, we can also get front row seats to a whole universe of very, very funny people discussing just how crazy that plan was. The only sad part is that because he’s on Twitter, he won’t see all of these great jokes. We’ll just have to hope that someone in his life can show him how to search for a hashtag on Twitter so he can take a look. There aren’t many occasions where “Just google ‘millennials'” would be advice I’d give but well done Franzen for finding one.

Offered for J. Franzen’s edification, slightly-used 5-y-o to help you understand young sociopaths. Free to bad home. pic.twitter.com/PJz7xkCiue

Are you saying Iraqi war orphans don’t exist solely for the education, moral edification of white men? https://t.co/DxGDg84HgX

My editor had to talk me out of eating a whole bunch of bees because I wanted to experience Buzzfeed.
