‘The Voice’ finale recap: Top four perform
NBC

To start off the night, Adam gave Jordan “Climb Every Mountain,” a song full of heart much like the artist signing it. By the end of Jordan’s performance, backed up by a choir dressed in white, all four coaches and the audience gave a standing ovation. It was a great way to kick off the night but then again Jordan is, as Blake said, consistently great.

For his live performance, Barrett sang “Die A Happy Man”with a smile on his face and his heart laid out on the stage, dedicating the song to his wife in the audience.

Jeffrey chose country song “Stay”for his finale performance and sang with such passion and precision. Coaches Blake and Pharrell agreed that Jeffrey was the artist that surprised them most with how far he’s come since the start of the season.

Emily Ann went out on a limb singing new song“Burning House.”She got lost in the song and gave quite an emotional performance. Pharrell called it flawless and Gwen said it was her favorite.

To reign in the holiday spirit, the contestants picked their favorite Christmas song to share for the night. Emily Ann sang “Blue Christmas” with her smooth country twang and Jeffrey sang “Oh Holy Night”with his strong mesmerizing voice. Barrett chose “Silent Night” for his Christmas performance and it was clear to everyone that he sang with all his heart. Jordan sang “Mary Did You Know” with absolute power and grace.

The contestants also took the stage with their coaches to perform a duet for the first time. Barret and Blake collaborated on the good ol’ classic “Rhinestone Cowboy,”and it was everything you’d expect from these countrymen — collared shirts, cowboy boots and belting voices. Jordan and Adam joined forces to sing “God Only Knows,” which Adam surprisingly considers the best song ever. And it certainly sounded that way with these two high-pitched angelic voices blending so beautifully together. And Emily Ann took the stage with Blake by her side singing a beautiful rendition of “Islands In The Street.”
