Maybe Alec Baldwin feels a kinship with Edward Snowden since they both tend to overshare. He's decided that the two of them should hang out.
"I want to try to interview [Snowden] for my podcast on WNYC," Baldwin told Vanity Fair. "I’m pressing all the buttons I have in London with friends of mine who know [Julian] Assange. I’m going to fly to Russia and try to interview Snowden."
Considering that Edward Snowden is both the most wanted fugitive and the most longed-for interview subject in the world right now, it seems unlikely that he'd grant his next interview to Baldwin. But who knows? Maybe he's a big "30 Rock" fan. If I were fleeing the law I'd probably be willing to come out of hiding for a sit-down with Jack Donaghy.
Baldwin also said he never plans to tweet again, which makes sense, given last week's events. After reporter George Stark pointed out that Baldwin’s wife Hilaria put up a tweet while the couple were at James Gandolfini’s funeral, he launched into a furious, profane tirade in her defense.
“Someone said my wife was tweeting during a funeral. Hey. That’s not true,” he wrote. “But I’m gonna tweet at your funeral.”
Baldwin continued in this vein for several more tweets, including “I’m gonna find you, George Stark, you toxic little queen, and I’m gonna f***…you…up,” (censorship ours this time) before apparently coming to his senses – his whole account has now been deleted.
