Former "Bachelor" contestant Gia Allemand died yesterday after hanging herself. She was 29 years old.
Allemand's boyfriend, New Orleans Pelicans player Ryan Anderson, found her in their home and called 911. She was taken to University Hospital in New Orleans, where she remained until Wednesday, when she was taken off life support.
In a statement, Anderson said, "Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile. She had such an amazing impact on my life and anyone that knew her was blessed."
Sources told E! News that Allemand and Anderson were having problems in their relationship, but that they were still together at the time of her death.
Gia Allemand was a contestant on Season 14 of "The Bachelor," and made it to the final three contestants. Some of her "Bachelor" colleagues took to Twitter to express shock and sorrow yesterday.
"I had to pull over, I can't stop crying. We have lost an angel," tweeted Jake Pavelka, who was Gia's bachelor.
"Gia you are my angel! You changed so many lives with your beautiful soul and will be missed and loved forever," tweeted Vienna Girardi.
