The Word: David Blaine asked Olivia Wilde to drown him

David Blaine showed up at Olivia Munn and Jason Sudeikis's house and asked them to try to drown him.

Actress Olivia Wilde as seen on August 7, 2013 in Los Angeles, California. Olivia Wilde drew the line at mortal danger when it comes to magic.

Being a celebrity is a bit of a Faustian bargain, I guess. On the one hand you're rich and beautiful and beloved and can afford really nice sunglasses. But on the other, David Blaine can just show up at your house and do magic at you at any time.

I assume that's written into the rich-and-famous contract, anyway. That's the only explanation I can think of for why Olivia Wilde let him in when he showed up at the house she shares with her husband Jason Sudeikis.

The actress was on the "Tonight Show" last night, where she shared an anecdote about her visit from Blaine. Apparently, he didn't just perform tricks for them — he wanted them to participate. And possibly murder him.

"He wanted us to hold him underwater for 15 minutes," she said. "And the best was he said, 'It doesn't matter if I'm thrashing, if I'm begging for my life, you can't let me up.'" The couple declined after Blaine's people started to delicately inquire about transport time to the nearest hospital. David Blaine shouldn't go around asking people to murder him. Sooner or later someone's going to take him up on it.
