It's the question on everyone's lips. (Everyone who's obsessed with long-running British science fiction, that is. Which is everyone worth knowing, of course.) Who will play the Twelfth Doctor on Doctor Who?
For those not in the know, the Doctor is a quasi-immortal being who can regenerate into a new body when he's hurt -- a plot device that's proved useful for recasting the role over the decades. We won't actually see the new Doctor until current star Matt Smith departs the show in this year's Christmas Special, but the BBC have apparently decided the news is too big to keep to themselves: They'll reveal it this Sunday at 2 p.m. in a special on BBC America.
Speculation is rampant about who the new star might be. I'll go out on a limb and predict it'll be some British person we've never heard of.
When she played Amy Pond on “Doctor Who,” Karen Gillan was known for her gorgeous head of red hair. Now that she’s no longer the Doctor’s companion, she’s apparently ready to leave that look behind.
Karen plays the villainous alien queen Nebula in the upcoming Marvel film “Guardians of the Galaxy,” and she shaved off her signature ginger locks for the role. The actress revealed her new look at San Diego Comic-Con, whipping off her wig to reveal her shiny scalp beneath. It’s a surprisingly flattering look, actually. Apparently if you have perfect bone structure, insanely beautiful hair is just icing on the cake.
