The Word: Lena Dunham's dog won't stop drinking pee

Whether you think Lena Dunham is a dull narcissist or the courageous voice of a generation, I think we can all agree on one thing: She takes good care of her dog.

Whether you think Lena Dunham is a dull narcissist or the courageous voice of a generation, I think we can all agree on one thing: She takes good care of her dog.

In an art project from Miranda July, Dunham and other celebrities and writers are periodically sharing emails with the world. This week's emails are about something they're working on, and what the "Girls" auteur is working on, apparently, is keeping her dog Lamby from drinking his own pee.

"My dog, Lamby, is a rescue (age not clear) who is wonderful and sweet but has some bad anxiety issues that lead him to burrow, chew and drink his own urine," she writes to someone named Tracy, presumably a dog trainer. "I thought perhaps his constant urinating (and drinking of that urine) was UTI based, but the vet checked him out and he was fine in that department — she suggested Prozac. I am hesitant to put the little boy on drugs and would love to have him meet you and see if we can ease his fear at all in a more natural way (we are already committed to training, a semi raw diet and plenty of exercise.)"

Maybe Lamby is just anxious that Lena is going to turn his struggles into a plotline on "Girls." If I were friends with Lena, I think that I too would burrow and chew for that reason.
