Sorry, anyone naive enough to pin romantic hopes on “Game of Thrones” characters: Maisie Williams doesn’t think Arya and Gendry are headed for a happy ending.

“It’s just too cliché, I think. [Author] George R.R. Martin would never do that.If you want something to happen on the show, it almost certainly will not happen,” she points out to the Huffington Post. That may disappoint Arya/Gendry shippers, but Maisie thinks Arya might be better off alone. “It’s always gonna go the other way. And personally, I also see Arya being on her own in the end and doing quite well.”

It would certainly be hard for anyone to date her. All her small talk anecdotes would come back to seeing her friends and family murdered.

In a world of intrigue and civil war, “Game of Thrones” family relations are always complicated – and none more so than the Lannisters’. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister, can’t wait to explore that mess of incest, scheming, and sociopathy in season 4, now that Jaime is back in the bosom of his family. “This is the first time we’re going to have the Lannisters together — [Tywin] with his kids,” he said. “I can’t wait to explore that. I hope to have a moment, a scene with the King, Joffrey,” he told theLA Times.
