Paris Jackson apparently called a suicide hotline Wednesday. Michael Jackson's daughter was rushed to the hospital early Wednesday morning after attempting suicide by cutting her wrists and overdosing. It was the suicide hotline that alerted the authorities, according to the Daily Mail.
"She wanted attention, she wanted to be saved," a law enforcement source said. [embedgallery id=163865]
"It makes no sense if you really want to die to call a hotline, where the person on the other end will get an ambulance over to your house."
I think this "law enforcement source" is being a little judgey to say that a child who called a suicide hotline and slit her wrists just wanted attention. "Thank God she called the hotline, where the person on the other end will get an ambulance over to your house. We're all praying for her safe recovery." There. Fixed it for you, law enforcement source.
Paris was rushed to a Los Angeles-area hospital Wednesday after an apparent suicide attempt, her mother, Debbie Rowe, told “Entertainment Tonight.”
Paris, the second of Jackson’s three children, had “a lot going on (lately),” Rowe told the celebrity news show.
“We appreciate everyone’s thoughts for Paris at this time and their respect for the family’s privacy,” an attorney for Rowe said in a statement.
Messages left with representatives of the singer’s estate were not immediately returned.
Celebrity website TMZ.com, which first reported the suicide attempt, said Paris had been taken from her home in Calabasas, Calif., by ambulance at about 2 a.m., citing unnamed sources.
