Just days before the new season begins filming, Fox is close to signing Mexican singer Paulina Rubio and former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland to round out the judging panel for "The X Factor," according to E! Online.
If the deal goes through, they'll join Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell as judges, replacing Britney Spears and L.A. Reid.
Both Rowland and Rubio have previous singing judging experience: Rubio appeared on the Mexican show "La Voz," and Rowland co-hosted the highest-rated season of the UK version of "The X Factor." It should be fun to watch them on the American "X Factor" if only to see whether they can remember which show they're on.
Rowland is also finally going public about how it feels to live in Beyonce’s shadow in her new song, “Dirty Laundry.”
The song is a raw, angry account of surviving an abusive relationship and watching Beyonce become a superstar and leave her behind, according to E! Online.
“Went our separate ways but I was happy she was killin’ it/Bittersweet she was up, I was down/No lie, I feel good for her but what do I do now?” Rowland sings.
The song also reveals how her abusive boyfriend would taunt her about her insecurities: “I was battered/He hitting the window like it was me, until it shattered/He pulled me out and said, ‘Don’t nobody love you but me/Not your mama, not your daddy, and especially not Bey.”
