Pierce Brosnan lost his daughter last week. Charlotte Brosnan, 41, passed away of ovarian cancer on June 28 in London, according to a statement.
Charlotte was the daughter of Pierce Brosnan and his first wife, Australian actress Cassandra Harris. Harris also passed away from ovarian cancer in 1991. Brosnan adopted Charlotte and her brother Christopher after their biological father died in 1986. They also had a second son together, Sean.
"On June 28 at 2 p.m. my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer," Brosnan said in a statement to E! News. "She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and brothers Christopher and Sean."
Brosnan's upcoming film "Love is All You Need" may stir up some difficult memories, since he also plays a widower — but he's not as jaded as his character, he told Metro. "No, not to the extent of this character, not really, but there are many emblems within this film which I could identify with: being a father, being a widower, being a single parent, having it up to the back teeth with women and love, bumping into the furniture, standing up [and] falling down — just the usual trials of being human."
