Angus T. Jones, who plays Jake Harper (aka the half man) on "Two and a Half Men," will not return next season. Instead, the show will add a new female character to replace him — so they should really think about changing the name, because oof, implying that a lady is a "half man" seems like asking for trouble.
No word yet on who the new cast member will be, but rumor has it she'll play the long-lost love child of Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen), according to E! Online. The last cast shakeup was in 2011, when Charlie Sheen oh-so-gracefully exited the show and was replaced by Ashton Kutcher.
Surprisingly, the show continued to be one of TV's mammoth hits even after losing its biggest star. Clearly, producers are betting that it can stay just as strong after losing its littlest one.
Last November the writing was on the wall for Angus, who publicly expressed his loathing of "Two and a Half Men." "If you watch ‘Two and a Half Men,’ please stop watching," he said in a video interview with Christian website Forerunner Chronicles. "I’m on ‘Two and a Half Men,’ and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it, please stop filling your head with filth."
Angus, who makes a reported $350,000 per episode of the high-rated sitcom, recently announced he is a born-again Christian, which supposedly explains the change of heart about what he does for a living.
