When 2 become 1: Mel B. is getting a divorce

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown, I mean, Scary Spice, I mean, Mel B., has filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years Stephen Belafonte. Aw, man.

PEOPLE somehow got their hands on their divorce papers, where the date of separation is listed as Dec. 28. Brown is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their 5-year-old daughter, Madison Brown Belafonte. The “America’s Got Talent” judge has also requested to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support, because she is not playing games.

The couple secretly married in June 2007 after a whopping five months of dating. The 41-year-old spent a considerable amount of time talking about their sex life and denying domestic abuse allegations, as you do.

Maybe that vague advice the Spice Girls had that one time is really true: Too much of something is bad enough… but too much of nothing is just as tough.
