Thursday gossip round up: Is Katie Holmes using Suri ‘as a weapon’ against Tom Cruise?

What started as a rather titillating celebrity divorce is now devolving into a sadly familiar one. Tom Cruise has “absolutely no contact with Katie,” according to website TMZ, with Cruise talking only to daughter Suri, 6, on the phone, once a day. Things are “really bitter now,” the source tells the site, with Katie “using Suri as a weapon.” Meanwhile, photographers caught Holmes laughing at an ice cream parlor with Suri as bodyguards stood on watch. “He has been Tom Cruise for 30 years,” she told Elle magazine, in their just-released issue, which may have offered clues about the divorce-to-come. “I know who I am and where I am and where I want to go, so I want to focus on that. I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier,” she continued. “I’m starting to come into my own. It’s like a new phase.”

With Cruise in the news, the paps are suddenly interested in Nicole Kidman, his ex, again. They caught her having—gasp!—dinner with her husband, singer Keith Urban, at a Florida restaurant, according to Us Magazine. The 45-year-old divorced Cruise in 2001, after an 11 year marriage.

Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr, wife of Orlando Bloom, knew she wanted to have their baby without drugs; she gave birth to son Flynn Christopher back in January. “I had made a decision that I wanted to do it [naturally],” she says in the August issue of Harper’s BAZAAR UK. “I had been watching all these baby bonding videos and [without an epidural], when the baby comes out it goes straight onto the breast. it was a long, arduous and difficult labour,” she continued, “but Orlando was with me the whole time supporting and guiding me through it. I could not have done it without him.”

The Bourne Realty? Jeremy Renner, star of the new “Bourne Legacy” film, has a side job flipping houses in Los Angeles, according to an interview in the new Esquire. He’s renovated more than 15 homes since 2002, reports the magazine, including a mansion he may be about to list for $25 million. “I’m very lucky,” Renner told the magazine. “I could have pretty easily been driving a forklift.”
