Just in time for most people to be too busy with their own holiday plans to notice, Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter have announced that they’ve called it quits after 13 years together. While the announcement comes on the eve of “Big Eyes,” Burton’s latest film — and a rare one not featuring Carter — it’s unclear exactly when they really broke up. “Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter separated amicably earlier this year and have continued to be friends and co-parent their children,” reps for both tell People magazine. “We would ask that you respect their privacy and that of their children during this time.” Those children, by the way, are 11-year-old Billy and 7-year-old Nell. The now-former couple met on his version of “Planet of the Apes” in 2001 and started dating soon after. It’s unclear if, now that they’ve split, they will continue to live in separate but adjoining houses in London’s fancy Belsize Park neighborhood. Not just partners and parents, Burton and Carter were regular collaborators, with the actress appearing in nearly every film he directed during their relationship, including “Alice in Wonderland,” “Dark Shadows” and “Sweeney Todd.” Here’s a rundown:
