Let’s hear it for the girls!
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be reprising their roles as Golden Globes hosts for the next two years, and they’ll each reportedly be paid as much as $4 million per ceremony, according to Radar Online.
“Tina and Amy decided to ask for the craziest package ever given to awards hosts,” a source says. They are each being paid more than any Oscar host in history with the exception of Billy Crystal. “They basically saw how desperate NBC was for their help and decided to take them for a ride.”
Apparently, being paid more than an Oscars host isn’t all that hard. In an April interview with The Hollywood Reporter, former Oscar co-host Alec Baldwin gave up the dirty on the paltry payday.
“They don’t pay you any money; the Oscars pay you like chicken feed,” he said, noting that hosting the Oscars is a “completely thankless job.” “It’s all about the honor of helping to extol film achievement. But they’re going to have a tough time. I’m dying to see who they get to do it next year. They’re going to have to go dig someone up from a cemetery. They’re going to have to go dig up Bob Hope.”
