Top your frozen treat with tomatoes at The Lite Choice.
When it comes to vegetable trivia, the fact that tomatoes are fruit is the juiciest. The Lite Choice, a froyo spot with locations at 1528 Walnut St. and 135 South St., is taking the concept farther than we’re totally comfortable with by using tomatoes as toppings.
The shop just partnered up with Linvilla Orchards of Media, Pa., to offer fresh blackberries, peaches, sweet corn and tomatoes on — or mixed into — its gluten-free, preservative-free frozen treats. The fruit choices will change each week this month; blackberries are available starting today, but you’ll have to wait until Aug. 22 for the tomatoes.
