VIDEO: Eddie Redmayne’s awkward Stephen Hawking encounter

Metro sits down with “the Theory of Everything” star Eddie Redmayne for an informal, on-camera chat about his work in the critically acclaimed film. Redmayne, who is getting a tremendous amount of Oscar buzz already, stars as renowned physicist Stephen Hawking. The film chronicles his life at college as he falls in love with first wife Jane (played by Felicity Jones) and faces the his life altering motor neuron disease diagnosis.

The most nerveracking part, Redmayne tells Metro, was meeting Hawking himself — a moment he’s pretty sure he completely ruined, based on Hawking’s reaction.

“The Theory of Everything” opens in New York and Los Angeles Nov. 7 and nationwide Nov. 14.
