"Empire" fans still have to wait until September 23 for Season 2, but Fox just released the first sneak peek to the new season, and it looks just as drama-filled as Season 1. With a new head of Lyon Records on top (we won't spoil as to who, in case you are still watching Season 1 online), the power dynamic has changed and not everyone is on board.

As with Season 1, music plays heavily into the show. Timbaland and Ne-Yo are signed on to head the music production for Season 2 and Billboard reports that Alicia Keys, Chris Rock and Lenny Kravitz will all make guest appearances.

Considering performances for the show were filmed at both the Billboard Music Awards and the BET Awards, fans can expect to see those moments played out on the show as well.

Due to the success of Season 1, the second season is an expanded 18 episodes. And from the trailer, it looks like plenty of drama will play out. Get your first look below:
