Wednesday gossip roundup: Lindsay Lohan will play Elizabeth Taylor if she can stay out of jail

Drew Barrymore was spotted leaving a Beverly Hills doctor’s office with fiancé Will Kopelman by her side and a sonogram printout in her hand, according to TMZ. So does this mean that the actress is expecting? Her rep had gave a firm “No comment” in response. But it could explain why Barrymore isn’t farther along in her wedding planning. At a recent event — to which she showed up in fairly loose-fitting clothing — Barrymore admitted she hadn’t even started shopping for a wedding dress. “Oh, gosh, I don’t know,” she said. “I’ve been trying to figure it out! All I know is that I want something tasteful, something timeless.”

A new report looks to confirm that Whitney Houston’s death earlier this month was caused by a mixture of alcohol and prescription drugs, according to Radar Online. “Whitney had taken Valium, Xanax and alcohol, which led to her death. The coroner is waiting on final toxicology results to determine which one of the three was the major contributing factor of her demise,” a source says. “The coroner will be closely examining Whitney’s blood alcohol content at the time she died as well. The sedatives and alcohol will almost certainly be the cause of death, and not drowning. Her heart stopped beating because her respiratory system was suppressed because of the anti-anxiety meds, and combined with the booze it probably happened very quickly before she was found partially submerged in the bathtub.”

It’s been a good week for Lindsay Lohan, career-wise. First, it was announced she’ll be hosting “Saturday Night Live” again on March 3, and now sources say that the troubled actress has been confirmed to play Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime television movie about the screen icon, according to Hollyscoop. The film, “Liz and Dick,” will focus on Taylor’s relationship with Richard Burton. A source says that as long as Lindsay stays out of trouble and fulfills all the obligations of her probation, the job is hers.

Jennifer Aniston admits that when she first met boyfriend Justin Theroux, she didn’t immediately fall for him. In fact, she even found him more than a little off-putting. “I met Justin about five years ago and I thought, ‘Whoa,’” she says in an interview with Good Morning America. “He is very sweet and he was always very nice, but I remember thinking he was very dark. At first you think he could be like a serial killer but he is actually the nicest person in the world.”

David Beckham’s three sons are getting older — and therefore a bit more aware of what sorts of things their famous parents do for a living. Like, say, posing in their underwear for H&M. “They gave me a little bit of flack for that, but they’re very proud of it,” he tells Us Weekly, adding that they’ll shout out with glee, “There’s daddy in underpants on big billboards!”

“The Office” star Rainn Wilson is learning the hard way that some topics don’t lend themselves to humor — like date rape. Wilson made a joke on Twitter about what kind of music he’d like playing if he ever were to be a victim of date rape — Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love,” as it happens — which set off a wave of angry responses. “Apparently my poorly conceived date rape tweet upset a lot of folks,” Wilson wrote in response. “Not a good topic to joke about. Sorry and won’t do that again.”
