Metro’s weekend TV breakdown.

‘I Love Lucy Christmas Special’
VINTAGE TV. Let’s take a break from all the — delightful — reality slop on the ‘tube and revisit a gentler time with this classic episode in which Lucy, Ricky and the gang take a holiday trip to Rome. They really don’t make television like they used.
Friday, 8 p.m., CBS

‘Saturday Night Live’
COMEDY. It’s the season finale already? We feel like we were just going to get to know the new cast members and, after a fairly rocky start, some of them were beginning to find their footing. The good thing about the newbies being so green is that the remaining veterans got a chance to shine — particularly Taran Killam, Kate McKinnon and Adie Bryant, who all killed it this season. Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon double-team the season finale, so you know it’s going to be good. And, one thing is for sure, it’s going to be white Christmas on the SNL set. (That’s a clunky joke about Lorne Michaels hiring a bunch of white dudes this season.) Also, is this Seth Meyers final episode? Tear.
Saturday, 11:30 p.m., NBC

‘I Am Britney Jean’’
SPECIAL. Oof, if there’s one thing that remains constant throughout her tumultuous career, it’s that Britney Spears is not the most, er, eloquent interviewee. In this special, Brit Brit (whose new album is not exactly topping the charts) gets candid with E!. Despite ourselves, we have a soft spot for Spears — it’s the whole rooting for the underdog thing, plus her early hits were certified jams — so we hope she paints herself in a not idiotic light.
Sunday, 8 p.m., E!
