Willow Smith was slated to star in the modern remake of "Annie" her dad, Will Smith, is producing with Jay Z, but it turns out she has more important things to do.
"I just wanted to chill and be at home and decompress and just find out what I want to do and where I stand on this planet, with the little tiny place we have," the 13-year-old tells V magazine, explaining why she turned down the role, which eventually went to "Beasts of the Southern Wild" star Quvenzhane Wallis.
"I just feel like I want to do it different than the world's ready for. I'm enjoying just being independent and doing my own thing."
