World’s oldest cat officially holds world record for not dying

A 26-year-old cat named Corduroy was officially recorded by the Guinness World Records as being the oldest living cat in the world.
Corduroy, a Leo, was born on Aug. 1, 1989. Much like other millennials, Corduroy is unemployed, loves sleeping and eating, lives with his parents and likely lacks any motivation to accomplish anything of merit.
The secret to Corduroy’s longevity?
“Letting him be a cat,” the narrator explains. This includes letting Corduroy hunt, and loving him.
Corduroy’s favorite food is apparently mice, but “due to recent medical complaints [Editors note: Probably diarrhea. Definitely diarrhea] he now only gets them on special occasions.”
According to Guinness, the average lifespan of a domesticated cat is 15 years, so Corduroy not being dead for the past 11 is quite an accomplishment.
Nice work, Corduroy.
