After spending time in rehab last spring for a reported drug problem, Zac Efron is excited to be moving on and growing from the experience.

“I’m so happy. I feel like I’m in a great place and I’m glad that I’m really here to share this moment with everybody and be present for all of it,” Efron said at a press conference on Tuesday for his new film, “That Awkward Moment,” in New York City.

The 26-year-old actor said of his “interesting year” that he “learned so many things.”

“The best part of it was being able to reflect upon that experience and realize how much I have learned about myself and the kind of man I want to be.”

While promoting the film, about three young guys navigating the dating world in New York City, Efron added that he “couldn’t be happier.”
