Are Eminem and Dr. Dre collaborating on a new track?

Dr. Dre

Are you anxious for the return of the real Slim Shady? In a recent interview with Uproxx, documentarian Allen Hughes dropped hints that rapper Enimem is making progress on his long-awaited new album.

Hughes directed the four-part documentary “The Defiant Ones,” premiering on HBO this week, which profiles the story of two powerful music producers, Dr. Dre and Jeremy Iovine. Hughes let slip that Dre, a long-time Eminem producer, is working with the rapper on his new album.

“Dre still records. People don’t know this: Dre records every day,” Hughes told Uproxx. “Right now he’s producing, in the ’11th hour,’ a track for Eminem’s latest album. So Dre’s still real active in music, you know?”

This should be good news for Marshall Mathers fans who are impatient for the release of some new material from the Grammy-winning rapper.

Eminem has not mentioned the album on his social media accounts since October 19, when he posted “Don’t worry I’m working on an album! Here’s something in the meantime,” and attached a link to the 7-minute track “Campaign Speech.” Eminem has not released a new collection of music since 2013’s “The Marshall Mathers LP 2.”

Hughes isn’t the only one leaking information about Eminem’s upcoming album. On Dr. Drama’s radio show “Streetz iz Watchin’,” rapper 2 Chainz extensively discussed collaborating with Eminem on one of the album’s tracks.

While it’s still unclear exactly when Enimem’s album is dropping, with collaborations with Dr. Dre and 2 Chainz on the horizon, it looks like fans have even more reason to get hyped about losing themselves in the music.
