Under Armour Speedform

Under Armour’s new Speedform is the first athletic shoe made outside of a sneaker factory — it was actually built in a bra factory. The creator was inspired by bra manufacturing and the fit of the first Apollo spacesuits to create this super-sleek shoe (it barely has seams, stitching and insole). The sock-like fit means the wearer is predisposed to a speed, and the seamless heel cup means that you can expect a chafe-free run.$120, www.ua.com

Brooks

Brooks Glycerin 11

Brooks wants you to think of its new-and-improved Glycerin as “your foot’s butler, catering to your every want and need.” The sneaker company added a bootie-like foot wrap inside the Glycerin to reduce friction, removed the shank in the middle of the foot (which normally sits between the heel and outsole, under the arch) and created a whole new top section (which is attached to the outsole and covers the toes, top of the foot, sides of the foot and the back of the heel) with 3D Fit Print technology, which means the shoe is lighter and there are virtually no seams. $150, www.brooksrunning.com
