3 things to know about fashion week on Tuesday

Peter Copping made his debut at Oscar de la Renta yesterday, and at the very least front row BFFs Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss approved. “Beautiful,” the supermodel whispered as a strapless blue number went by. “Very respectful. Really, really beautiful,” said the pop star to the New York Times.

As for the ladies who lunch — Oscar’s bread and butter — they can rest easy. Copping’s collection of ladylike skirt suits, dainty day dresses, and elegant furs (in jaunty shades of red) paid respect to the late designer without looking too slavish. Copping really let loose with the eveningwear, however, with bold prints, unlined lace bodices, and exuberant ruffles giving this lovely, considered collection a youthful edge.

The label that made Bjork’s infamous swan dress — KTZ — made its New York Fashion Week debut yesterday, featuring big 80s-style coats with riotous Basquiat-worthy scribbles and prints. In other words, sufficiently bonkers, though nothing that could quite rival the swan dress in either originality or absurdity.
