Last Friday, bridal beauty caught a whole new meaning with Rock ‘n Roll Bride’s announcement that Harnaam Kaur will be featured in a bridal shoot on their blog. Kaur is a body-positive, anti-bullying activist, whose experience on the matter comes from incessant bullying in her adolescence due to her having facial hair.

Kaur began growing facial hair at the age of 11 due to polycystic ovary syndrome, a common endocrine system disorder, which causes an imbalance of hormones in a woman’s body. Kaur suffered from major depression because of the relentless bullying she endured from classmates, leading her to self-harm and suicidal thoughts.

Now a body confidence activist, Kaur embraces her facial hair and uses it to encourage others to embrace their natural appearance.

Kaur explains, “I decided to turn all that negative energy into positive energy, and grasp hold of life. I wanted to live a happy life, and I made the decision to keep my beard and accept my body for the way it was formed.”

Watch out for her on Rock ‘n Roll Bride’s blog and make sure to check out her beautiful Instagram.
