Inventor Brian Sloan, who has made headlines before, has a company called Intelligent Ecommerce Inc that got funding through crowdsourcing platform Indiegogo. Sloan explains why his fellatio device has managed to penetrate the market.
Giving this a test run must be a hard job. How long did it take to finish?
It’s taken approximately three years. I was actually the first to try it because the chief engineer based in China hadn’t given it a go. I guess this kind of toy is kind of culturally weird.
There are a few male sex toys out there already, so what makes this one better?
It’s actually very different from other toys; you have to hold them and this detracts from real pleasure. Mentally I think the fact that this is hands-free gives you a different mental reference point.
Women have been using sex toys for years but the men’s market has been slow to react. Why is it only now that we’re seeing more products in the press and shops?
I think that the market has been dominated by a few major products like Fleshlight – they’ve stifled innovation. I think electronic devices like the Autoblow 2 are going to become more popular.
Sticking your penis into a machine will make any man go limp with fear. What are the safeguards?
Actually my biggest fear was that the stroking motion might not work with curved or weird-shaped penises. To prevent any possibility of injury, we used a very high quality motor that cuts out if it detects too much pressure.
