Bohos in Britain at Burberry Prorsum

Burberry Prorsum: Runway - London Fashion Week AW14

Burberry went Bohemian for fall with painterly silks, printed scarf dresses, slouchy trench coats and hand-painted decoration. This was Christopher Bailey’s first season in his new joint role of CCO and CEO, and as proven by the smile on Anna Wintour’s face, his design work doesn’t seem to be suffering for it.

The collection was both romantic and dynamic with a muted color palette that featured lilacs, yellows and dusky pinks before sweeping into more autumnal shades of burgundy, elderberry and olive. Motifs traversed the seasons too: Summery florals gave way to leaves, which were beautifully scattered across silk dresses, sheer skirts and floaty coats. Then winter arrived by way of the finale: models swaddled in a series of thick, checkered blankets, which are sure to be a must-have accessory for fall.
