A couple decided to re-create Barack and Michelle Obama moments by posing as the former first family during the shoot for their engagement photos.
Newly engaged couple Cassi and Adam wanted to have their engagement photos modeled and styled after iconic photos former President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama have shared, and they are wonderful.
Cleveland photographer Natasha Herbert and event planner Covesa Gragg helped make their dreams come true by re-creating some of the Obamas most memorable moments at the White House that have become iconic photographs.
“When our bride and groom said, ‘Can we try and duplicate one of their famous shots for our engagement pics?’ I was like, ‘Let’s do an entire shoot – we can do this and this and THIS,’” Gragg told Essence magazine in an interview.
Herbert shared a few of the outtakes on her Instagram, and they are gorgeous. The couple re-created several iconic photos, includings a photo of the Obamas just before the National Newspaper Publishers Association reception in March 2009, at a taping,at the 2015 World Expo, in the White House Diplomatic Reception Room, and the now iconic Essence magazine cover photo from October 2016.
The caption in Herbert’s Instagram post read: “Because we miss them so much…. Our couple Cassi & Adam were channeling Michelle and Barack Obama in this engagement shoot.”
Although you can’t predict whether a marriage will be successful based on engagement photos alone, we can only hope that their stunning tribute to Barack and Michelle Obama can propel them to the happiest of marriages – much like the Obamas have now.
We’re sure there’s a couple out there who plans on re-creating some of the Trumps’ iconic moments, and we will be waiting to see what that looks like.
