Style. The fifth annual style showcase in back and we’ve got the scoop on what to check out.

After months of beach bumming and flip-flopping, there’s something exciting about cozying up, layering on, and, well, trying again.

Even so, we appreciate the extra nudge from The Philadelphia Collection. Now in its fifth year, the city’s annual style showcase features everything from runway shows to pop-up shops, from national retailers to indie boutiques. Here’s what we’re definitely trying on this year.

Uomo Moderno fashion show
Friday, 7 p.m., 1023 Clinton St.
Adding a little international perspective, lifestyle quarterly Uomo Moderno is behind this showcase of Italian labels. Fresh off a trip from New York Fashion Week, publisher Francesco Di Maio will be wearing one of the evening’s featured designers, Nico Didonna. On the lineup: “A grey wool knee-length coat with huge lapels and matching slim-legged pants, as well as a brown jersey top that drapes down to three buttons on the side,” he tells us. “Trendy, fashionable, masculine and warm!”

Rittenhouse Row Fall Fashion Crawl
Sept. 23, 6-8 p.m.
Ever notice how much more shopping you can get accomplished when cocktails are involved? Featuring Rittenhouse retailers and restaurants including Nicole Miller, Joan Shepp, Duke & Winston, Sbraga, Rouge and more, this out-and-about evening includes in-store specials and cocktail competitions. For a wristband ($25), visit www.rittenhouserow.org.

Philadelphia Fashion Incubator Shopping Soiree
Sept. 23, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Comcast Center
Local up-and-comers from the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator – a joint effort between the city and Macy’s to support emerging talent — are showcasing fall looks at this one-day-only sale.

Fashion Under the Shambles
Sept. 23, 6 p.m.
On any given night, South Street is an all-out runway with world-class people-watching cred. Next week, this event showcasing Headhouse District salons and boutiques makes it a bit more official with fancy drinks and tiny foods. For tickets ($25), visit www.southstreet.com.
