Author E.L. James has launched two wines to expand the “Fifty Shades” empire.
Nothing says single like a bottle of wine and a romance novel. Now Author E.L. James — who wrote the Fifty Shades of Grey series — is helping you turn it up to 50 shades of single with twonew wines and her erotic romance novel.
The author launched two personally blended wines this week, each inspired by her best-selling books.
“I’ve always had a penchant for good wine, so combining two of my passions to blend Red Satin and White Silk was a natural extension of the series,” James says of the red and white varieties. “Wine plays an important role in Fifty Shades of Grey, adding to the sensuality that pervades a number of scenes.”
“A number of scenes.” That’s cute.
Red Satin is a decadent blend of petite sirah and syrah, while White Silk delicately blends gewürztraminer and sauvignon blanc. Like Ana and Christian, the duo is supposed to blend naughty and nice. This discussion point necessitates wine at your next book club.
