As President Obama starts the final two years of his presidency he’ll probably be adding several trips to his personal agenda. His oldest daughter, Malia, starts her college search.

Now a 16-year-old high school junior, Malia reportedly visited both Stanford University (Chelsea Clinton’s alma mater) and the University of California at Berkeley last summer.

But if she wanted to follow in the footsteps of several of her family members, there are several schools right here on the East Coast that she may want to consider. The president has said that Malia is possibly interested in studying film.

Columbia University: The Ivy League campus uptown is, of course, where President Obama graduated from in 1983. Fittingly, the president majored in political science with a minor in international relations.

Barnard College:Malia’s aunt (and the President’s half-sister) Maya Soetoro-Ng attended the Barnard in the early 1990s. Added bonus: the college has had a film studies program since 2002.

Princeton University: Both Michelle Obama and her brother, Craig Robinson, are graduates of the Ivy League university. In addition to having the chance to take classes in film studies, Princeton alums in Hollywood include director Ethan Coen of the Coen brothers.
