“Belle du Jour” meets ladies who lunch was the vibe at Jason Wu’s slightly subversive fall outing. He showed exceptionally tailored trousers, demure dresses with eyebrow raising slits and luxury flossing fox fur stoles in military green, inky black and soft grey. Wu, who’s dressed the First Lady for a fancy occasion or two, knows his way around gorgeous eveningwear. This season he kept it fuss-free: beaded T-shirt gowns, a shiny black jumpsuit, and a light-as-air white crepe halter that was just breathtaking. Oscar nominees, are you reading?
