Schools head Cathie Black resigns

Well, she made it three months.

Cathie Black, the embattled schools chancellor, resigned today from her post, NY1 reported.

Black was a controversial choice by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and only 17 percent of New Yorkers approved of her.

She churned out headlines by seemingly mocking parents at a schools hearing, and opponents argued that the corporate executive didn’t have the proper education credentials.

Deputy Mayor Dennis Walcott will take over.
