In case there was any inkling of doubt, Jessica Simpson has confirmed via Twitter that she is expecting her first child. Either that, or she made a really terrible Halloween pun when she tweeted today, “It’s true — I am going to be a mummy!”
Speculation over her growing tum-tum has been making headlines for weeks. “Is she pregnant? Or just fat? Pray tell,” America pined to know. Rumor had it she may have been holding out for a hefty offer from a publication hoping to break the news.
Perhaps no one cared enough to bite… or maybe Simpson just got sick of people calling her fat. Nevertheless, Simpson has confirmed that she and her fiancé, former NFL player Eric Johnson, are anxiously awaiting their first bundle of joy. The couple became engaged last November. This will be the second grandchild for Jessica’s parents, Joe and Tina. Her sister, Ashlee Simpson, had son Bronx with former husband Pete Wentz in 2008.
