We can’t believe we have to holiday shop already. And in line with the wish lists that are springing up in your inbox, holiday markets have followed suit. We’ve got the details for three NYC pop up shops you won’t want to miss this season.
The red and white tents are back at Union Square. The holiday market, complete with new holiday lights, aims to create the ultimate Christmas-in-the-city atmosphere. Over 150 unique small businesses will sell jewelry, toys, and more alongside classic NYC food vendors such as Wafles & Dinges. The Little Brooklyn section will once again sell strictly handmade, local goods.
A jury-selected group of over 50 emerging New York City-based fashion designers will take over this 20,000 square foot industrial this holiday season. Pratt Center’s “Made in NYC” initiative organizes and curates this event, selecting designers with a commitment to manufacturing within the five boroughs. Shop handmade apparel, accessories, home décor, jewelry and more. There will be demonstrations and workshops, such as a hand-sewing shoe workshop for kids and several jewelry making workshops. Check Factoryfloorbrooklyn.com for schedule.
Combining both the holiday and DIY spirit, BUST Magazine is hosting its eighth annual indie shopping event. Over 250 east coast vendors will make their way to Chelsea, offering crafted goods from dolls to soap to cufflinks. Shoppers can also enjoy the pop up food court, raffle, and daylong DJ. If you’re looking for something really memorable, adopt a pet or at least cuddle with one at the S.N.A.R.R Pooch Room. Several vendors will also offer craft making tutorials.
