Days after GQ printed an interview with Billy Ray Cyrus in which he blamed Disney’s “Hannah Montana” for daughter Miley Cyrus’s problems, saying, “the damn show destroyed my family,” news comes from The Hollywood Reporter that Disney is no longer in contract with the Cyrus family.
“We saw it coming for a long time,” a source at Disney told The Reporter. “She wanted to mature herself, but it kind of backfired. Her future without Disney is TBD.”
Cyrus is currently filming “So Undercover” and “LOL” (a title that makes us do just that) in an attempt to get into more “adult” roles. Meanwhile, Billy Ray is reportedly not involved in his daughter’s life.
Ha. What’s there to worry about? Just look at how the last Southern female Disney star with daddy issues who was released from her productive cocoon too early in order to establish a more “adult persona” — Britney Spears — turned out!
