Tonya Cooley: MTV cast member sues over alleged toothbrush rape

A cast member on MTV’s “Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins” has accused some of her cast mates of raping her with a toothbrush, while cameras rolled.

According to TMZ, Tonya Cooley has named MTV, Bunim/Murray Productions, Kenneth Santucci, Evan Starkman and others in a lawsuit alleging the incident took place while she was passed out.

According to Cooley, Santucci and Starkman “took another male participant’s toothbrush and rubbed the toothbrush around plaintiff’s genitals, including rubbing her labia and inserting the toothbrush into plaintiff’s vagina.”

Cooler also says it all happened while cameras were still rolling and producers knew about the rape but never said a word to her about it. She says they did, however, replace the toothbrush.

Cooley goes on in the suit to say she reported incidents of sexual abuse, along with other female cast members, but show officials shrugged it off. She also claims male cast members were encouraged to “inappropriately touch female cast members’ bodies, including in intimate areas.”
