Treat them to sweet somethings

Valentine’s Day candy for everyone on the 14th — no weird pink-filled chocolates included.

1) These organic vegan chocolates have a big heart: Proceeds benefit Farm Sanctuary, an advocacy and rescue organization for animals abused at factory farms. Romeo the Goose and his friends are also available for sponsorship in your Valentine’s name. $15, www.farmsanctuary.org

2) Whip up an easy treat with the help of My Little Cupcake molds, which turn out perfectly shaped, no-bake cupcake pop treats. Read below for their Chocolate Truffle Cookie Delight recipe. $6 per mold or $23 per four-pack, www.mylittlecupcakepop.com

3) At Chocomize.com, you choose a chocolate bar (dark, milk or white), and then add up to five toppings, from roasted pistachios to Cinnamon Toast Crunch to 23-karat gold flakes. Bars start at $4, www.chocomize.com

4) Add these cherry-flavored gummies to cupcakes or cookies for a tasty decoration (and, um, send our way). $3-$4.50 at Wal-Mart and drugstores

No-Bake Chocolate Truffle Cookie Delight

1 15 oz. package (approx. 28 cookies) Oreo Fudge Cookies
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Powdered sugar for dusting hands.

Grind cookies in a food processor. Place milk in microwave safe bowl; microwave, uncovered, on high 60-90 seconds or until milk begins to simmer. Add chocolate morsels; whisk until smooth. Pour mixture into food processor with cookies and continue until all ingredients are combined.

Pour mixture into bowl and chill for 3 hours. Sprinkle hands with powder sugar and roll spoonfuls of truffle mixture into balls and mold. Re-chill 10 minutes and truffle cupcakes are ready to be dipped.
