19-year-old Brooklyn man turns himself in after making online death threat against cop

New York Cityscapes And City ViewsJonathan Thompson, a 19-year-old reputed gang member from Brooklyn, turned himself in to police Sunday night after he had allegedly used Facebook to order the death of a police officer.

Thompson arrived at the 73rd Precinct in Brownsville with his lawyer, mother and a clergyman, according to The New York Post.

He had allegedly threatened and harassed NYPD Deputy Inspector Joseph Gulotta using the precinct’s Facebook page. Thompson ordered the cop’s death, describing Gulotta’s car and work schedule.

Thompson has been charged with making a terrorist threat and aggravated harassment as a hate crime. The Brooklyn teen is a member of the local gang, the Hood Stars, and has a criminal record for such crimes as pot possession and disorderly conduct.
