The families of two men who were shot dead in Boston in 2012 filed wrongful death lawsuits against New England Patriots player turned murder suspect Aaron Hernandez.
Hernandez, 24, is looking at two $6 million lawsuits, The Globe reports, for his involvement in the July 2012 shooting, which took the lives of Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado.
The former football player is being held in Bristol County Jail awaiting trial for the July 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd, 27, of Dorchester. He has pleaded not guilty to gun and murder charges in that case.
Though no charges have been filed in connection to the 2012 slayings, Hernandez is being investigated for his possible involvement in the drive-by shooting in Boston's South End.
