A Wakefield man facing 100 child molestation charges is due in a Salem courtroom Wednesday, accused of additional crimes.

The Essex district attorney’s office said 49-year-old John Burbine will be arraigned on one count of child rape and one count of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.

“The alleged assaults occurred between 1990 and 1994 in Saugus when the victim was between the ages of five and nine,” Essex DA spokeswoman Carrie Kimball-Monahan said in a statement.

Kimball-Monahan said the alleged victim came forward after Burbine was charged in December 2012 by Middlesex County prosecutors with molesting 13 children at his wife’s day care center.

The apparent victims in that case ranged from eight days to three-and-a-half years old. Burbine is accused of videotaping some of the incidents, which reportedly took place between August 2010 and August 2012.

Burbine is being held on $1 million bail on charges including aggravated forcible rape of a child, posing a child in a state of nudity and possession of child pornography. He pleaded not guilty.

Burine was listed as a Level 1 sex offender after three convictions in 1989 for indecent assault and battery on a child. Level 1 offenders are considered least likely to commit more crimes.
