Arlington police said an allegedly drunk man crashed his car into a popular and busy eatery Saturday night, injuring a woman who was having dinner inside.

Police were called to Scutra Restaurant at about 6:15 p.m. for a report of a car that had crashed into the building.

When officers arrived they evacuated the restaurant and treated a 70-year-old Arlington woman. She was taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Meanwhile, the driver,Nick Martirosyan, 57, of Arlington, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and negligent driving. It was his second DUI offense, Arlington police said.

Police said that witnesses told officers that Martirosyan struck several parked cars before hitting the building.

“We are fortunate that injuries were not more serious, and we hope for a speedy recovery for the woman who was injured,” Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan said in a statement.

Martirosyan is due in court on Monday.
