Rhode Island State Police activated an Amber Alert on Wednesday night after a young boy was abducted. Now, authorities are searching for a second vehicle in connection with the incident.
Rhode Island State Police and the Woonsocket Police Department are asking for the public’s help in locating an abducted 6-year-old boy from Woonsocket. Daniel Britt is described as white, about 4 feet, 3 inches tall, weighing 50 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
According to the Massachusetts State Police, who are assisting in the case, Daniel is believed to have been abducted by his non-custodial mother, Andria Britt, 34. Britt, who has joint custody of her son, ignored a required court date on Jan. 8 and neglected to return the child to his father as part of a consent order.
Authorities are searching for two vehicles, and believe they may be headed toward Washington. The vehicles are a 2004 Ford Focus with Rhode Island license plate 942649, and a 1992 gray Chevrolet Astro van with Washington license plate ABR1512.
If you have seen these vehicles or know the whereabouts of Daniel Britt and Andria Britt, please call the Rhode Island State Police at 401-444-1000.
