Yet another fire has destroyed a home in Somerville, adding to fears that the city's streak of arsons has continued.
This fire, the 17th in Somerville since June, has authorities on high alert. Over the last three months, four fires in Somerville have been confirmed as arson.
That said, fire investigators won't jump to conclusions just yet.
"It could be hours if not days [to determine a cause]," Somerville Fire Chief Kevin Kelleher told WickedLocal Somerville. Somerville Police and state fire investigators are looking into the situation.
The family was not home at the time of Thursday evening's fire, which took place at a three-story home on Dickerson Street near Inman Square. Nobody was injured, and the family received funds, food and clothing from the American Red Cross.
According to FOX 25, the family's dog was initially not found, but later came running over when fire crews were cleaning up.
