Apartment burglaries on Mission Hill prompt police warning

Boston police are warning residents of Mission Hill to take extra precautions securing their homes after a rash of home burglaries that took place over the holiday weekend.

Police issued a community alert on Tuesday, saying that six break-ins have occurred within the last week.

The first took place late Nov. 27 at 115 Fisher Ave. The victims told officers they came home about 11:15 p.m. after visiting friends and noticed that their apartment’s back door was open and that they were missing a laptop, BlackBerry phone and an iPad.

Police took reports of other break-ins including two on Nov. 29, one on Nov. 30 and two on Dec. 1. Two of the burglaries took place at apartments on Parker Hill Avenue, and the two on Dec. 1 happened in the same building at 852 Huntington Ave.
