Get ready to buy both iPads and hamburgers at Grand Central.

This morning, the finance committee of the MTA board approved both Apple and Shake Shack to open retail locations at Grand Central Station.

The two companies will go before the full MTA board to get final approval on Wednesday.

Apple will pay approximately $1.1 million to take over space currently occupied by Charlie Palmer’s Metrazur restaurant.

Apple will also pay for improvements to Grand Central’s infrastructure.

The previous tenant, Metrazur, paid about $20 per square foot while Apple will pay roughly $160 per square feet in rent.

Construction on the Apple store is expected to take about four months.
