Cops arrested a South Carolina teenager on early Saturday morning after police found him asleep on a subway train with a gun in his hand.
Demarrius Jackson, 19, of Columbia, South Carolina had nodded off on the southbound N train when a female passenger saw the teen holding a gun.
After alerting the train conductor for assistance, police said three officers approached train, which was held at the Times Square station. Credit: NYPD Transit police officers Michael Falls, Eugene Grant and Janice Marshall approached the train at around 7:11 a.m.
They saw Jackson lying down across two seats in the rear of the train, asleep with a loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun.
Officers Falls and Grant were able to recover the weapon — which had been defaced — without incident, police said.
The officers also found marijuana in one of the teen's pockets
Jackson was arrested and charged with possession of a loaded firearm, as well as for possession of a defaced firearm and unlawful possession of marijuana.
